GENERAL DESCRIPTION
Perform test and assessment functions on circuit boards, circuit board assemblies, finished products and associated wiring from Receiving, in-process, rework and customer returns. Manufactures sub-assemblies from materials and components and ensure that each sub-assembly meets quality specifications and cost parameters with minimal or no rework required. Performs digital programming of electronic subassemblies. Performs tests utilizing Nucsafe diagnostic software on electronic subassemblies.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Test multiple electronic subassemblies using state of the art electronic testing equipment such as digital oscilloscopes, digital multi-meters, automated testing equipment and diagnostic software.
- Regularly attaches, places, positions and installs components on printed circuit boards following detailed instructions and engineering build specifications. Regularly operates and handles surface mount technology equipment such as soldering tools.
- Converses with management, engineers and other personnel to identify and learn critical components, manufacturing processes and instrumental techniques.
- Regularly analyzes test and assessment results and uses statistical tools to convey information to the Plant Manager and area personnel.
- Performs electronic EEPROM and digital programming on multiple electronic subassemblies; performs Statistical Process Control or SPC on electronic subassemblies.
- Recommends alternatives to problems encountered so as to optimize the assembly process for efficiency, quality and consistency; regularly implements quantitative methods of measuring productivity and cost containment processes.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Technical Associates degree with a working knowledge of electronic EEPROM, Flash memory programming and Microsoft networks or equivalent experience is required.
- Two (2) to five (5) years in electronics assembly repair and electronic component/assembly testing for a technical instrument manufacturer or electronic contract manufacturer. Demonstrated experience with electronic assembly, analytical test equipment, analog and digital level firmware assembly, and manufacturing systems.
- Prefer a BS in Applied Science, Engineering, Mathematics or related field.
- Boot loader IC programming, Xilinx FPGA programming, and flash memory programming experience desirable.
Must be able to pass a Pre-employment Drug & Alcohol Test as well as a Credit and Criminal Background Check.
